Edge lists Monster Hunter 3G for western launch
More hints that the perennially popular Monster Hunter may send its 3DS incarnation out to conquer the world.
The latest issue of EDGE lists Monster Hunter 3G for release in Europe in the third quarter, as spotted by a GoNintendo reader, with a US release to be confirmed.
Monster Hunter 3G is yet another version of the game best known in the west by its Wii title, Monster Hunter Tri. The 3DS version features new content and multiplayer modes, has more than 1.2 million under its belt, and drove up 3DS sales on release. It utilises the Slide Pad add-on, making it the only portable Monster Hunter which doesn't require "the claw" to control comfortably.
In Japan, the third Monster Hunter game shifted 800,000 copies on Wii, 4 million on PSP prior to an HD-release, and over 300,000 as a PS3 HD remake of the portable version. The phenomenally successful series as a whole has generated close to 20 million sales.
Monster Hunter 3G is is the first entry in the action RPG franchise to appear on the 3DS, ahead of the highly-anticipated Monster Hunter 4, announced at a 3DS press event, but not expected to remain exclusive.
Capcom and Nintendo have not made any official statement on the game's localisation, but the publishers has dropped hints in the past.
