2012 International Dota 2 Championships announced, shifts to Seattle

Valve has announced The International Dota 2 Championships 2012, revealing that the world's leading Dota 2 championship will take place at this year's PAX Prime event to be held in Seattle.

This year's championship will be held during the PAX Prime event in Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington. PAX Prime runs from August 31 to September 2.

The International pits sixteen of the world's best Dota teams against each other in a group stage, double elimination playoff format for a grand prize of $1 million. The event will be broadcast in multiple languages, free of charge.

Last year's inaugural championship was held in Cologne, Germany during Gamescom.
