Sega outlines StreetPass features for Sonic Generations 3DS

Sega has revealed how you can unlock up to 100 extra missions for your little blue blur by exchanging data with other players on the fly.

Sonic Generations 3DS will feature two main functions using the StreetPass feature of the 3DS, according to Andriasang.

First up is the ability to exchange profile cards with other players that contain details you've chosen to share about your preferences for the Sonic series, such as how long you've been a fan and which of Sonic's numerous buddies is your favourite. Progress data for your Sonic Generations playthrough will also be exchanged.

The second, more substantial feature, is the unlocking of bonus missions. There will be 100 of these bonus missions split over different modes such as Revenge and Special Trial, the missions you unlock will depend on those that have been completed by the players that you are exchanging data with. Alternatively, all of these missions will also be available to unlock via Game Coins.

Sonic Generations launches for 3DS, PS3, 360 and PC in November.
