Mojang and Bethesda heading to court over Scrolls trademark

Markus Persson has stated over Twitter that the trademark issue between Mojang and Bethesda over the name "Scrolls" is heading to court.

Last month, Mojang received a letter from Betheda’s legal department stating that the name of the firm's digital trading card game, Scrolls, was in violation of the Elder Scrolls trademark.

Notch has said previously that Bethesda's claim was "bogus," as there wasn't any way a consumer could ever confuse his firm's game with Skyrim or any other Elder Scrolls game.

Calling Bethesda's letter “lawyers being lawyers,” at the time, and jokingly saying the two firms could settle the dispute over a friendly game of Quake 3, it now looks as though it will be settled by a day in court instead.
