Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online is costing Capcom plenty
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online is still in development at Capcom, even though things have been a little quiet of late.
Behind the scenes, the developers have been working furiously on the downloadable fighter, spending plenty of money to make sure it's up to scratch.
According to VP Christian Svensson, the game is "the highest budget digital title we've done" at Capcom USA. That means it's already overtaken the generous budget allocated to Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, and that money paid for a set of completely redrawn graphics.
We're already hearing rumblings that this one will be pretty special, and it sounds like we won't have to wait long to find out more. Svensson has promised that we will be "deluged with information" in a month or so, which just so happens to put the calendar smack bang on E3 week. Who ever would have guessed?
Thanks, Joystiq, for finding the Ask Capcom event.
