inFamous 2 beta gets extension due to PSN outage

Sucker Punch has decided to extend inFamous 2's UGC beta test following the ongoing PSN outage, which saw the service taken offline last Wednesday.

The developers posted this message on the game's Twitter account - "We've decided to extend the beta. Once PSN is back up we'll determine by how long, but rest assured: your outcry has been heard."

The beta is still playable, however you can't upload or download any user-created content, or access the private beta forums.

Sucker Punch has also decided to halt any beta code giveaways until PSN resumes service.

"Handing out beta codes that you can't redeem is decidedly cruel and unusual - that said, during this time of maintenance, we will suspend all code giveaways and contests," read a post on its official site.

"As soon as PSN is back up and running, though, you can expect to see our contests and giveaways populating our usual outlets. As usual, stay tuned to our Twitter feed, and we'll let you know as soon as the servers come back online."

The Sucker Punch-developed game releases on June 10 for PS3.
