Japanese charts – PSP and Earth Defense Force 2 tops
Media Create has released its sales chart for Japanese hardware and software for the week ending April 10, and it finds PSP topping the harware chart for the third week in a row. On the software chart, Earth Defense Force 2 Portable debuted at number one.
PSP titles make up most of the top 20
D3 Publisher's Earth Defence Force 2 Portable debuted at the top of the software chart with 63,795 units sold, while Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional hung on to the two spot for the second week in a row.
The latest Professor Layton title and Nintendogs + Cats, were the only titles keeping the top 20 relatively bare of 3DS games, and the PS2 title Amagami came in last in the top 20. Still, a PS2 title in on the charts in this day and age is a rather momentous feat in and of itself.
Other debuts for the week were Kimi ni Todoke: Communicate Feelings for NDS, and Are You Alice? for PSP.
All in all, nine PSP titles made up the top 20, which is almost half the offerings on the chart.
