IW attorney: Activision covered up its horns with a Halo

Looks like before Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired from Activision, the duo were looking to get a deal from the publisher similar to what Bungie got.

According to an article from the LA Times, the former Infinity Ward heads were currently in talks with the publisher before they were shown the door.

"According to people familiar with the situation," the article reads, "the publicly released terms of the Bungie deal are similar to the one that former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vincent Zampella were seeking before talks broke down and they were fired for alleged breach of contract in attempting to form their own company".

In response to the deal, Bob Schwartz, the duo's attorney, had this to say: “It’s astonishing how much money Activision had to pay to cover up its horns and pitchforks with a halo.”

Awesome. We can just see him put his sunglasses on after that quote, and walk off the screen to the sounds of Roger Daltrey screaming.

The deal between Bungie and Activision was announced yesterday and you can get caught up on all the goings on here.

Legal issues between the former heads of Infinity Ward and other former and currently employees is ongoing, and doesn't look to end any time soon.
