The news follows confirmation by the firm that 1,400 are to be immediately shed as a first round of 5,000 losses.
Microsoft's Entertainment Division is said to be taking the brunt of the lay-offs, with it being confirmed last night that the entire Flight Simulation team has been relieved of duty.
