Blizzard still making "significant changes" to SCII story arc
Did you think Blizzard had the whole StarCraft II story arc sorted out a long, long time ago? You thought wrong, friend.
Producer Chris Sigaty said at Blizzcon this weekend that the company's still sorting out the story for the next two SCII chapters, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.
This may be why you won't be seeing HotS until 2012 at least.
"Not really, no," he said when asked if the StarCraft II story was fully written.
"We're making pretty significant changes and still figuring things out."
He also said that much of the content and mechanics of Heart of the Swarm was still being worked on.
"We will be very hard pressed to bring it out next year," he said.
"I don't have a date, but it's more ambitious, it's bigger than what Warcraft: The Frozen Throne was to Reign of Chaos; I don't anticipate it being done in that one-year time-frame."
It was confirmed over the Blizzcon weekend that the Zerg-based chapter in the SCII story, Heart of the Swarm, would entirely skip 2011 after the release of the Terran-led Wings of Liberty this year.
The first art for Heart of the Swarm aired in California at the event.
A third chapter, Legacy of the Void, which will based on the Protoss, is also coming.
Thanks, IGN.
