Destiny 2 is also 30fps on Xbox One X
Those holding out hope for Destiny 2 to do anything differently on Xbox One X than look a bit better, will be sorely disappointed.
During the reveal of Destiny 2 last month, the only console version of the game shown was running on PS4 Pro.
Bungie confirmed the game runs at 30fps on consoles and cited a couple of reasons why, but because the developer didn't specifically mention Xbox One X, many assumed - hoped - the game would have an unlocked frame-rate there. Now that Xbox One X has been officially revealed, developers are free to talk about their games running on it.
Unfortunately for Destiny fans, the Xbox One X version won't be the major upgrade they were hoping it would be, at least as far as frame-rate goes. This tidbit was confirmed by game director Like Smith during an interview with Geoff Keighley. Skip to minute 5:34.
"It's 30 frames-per-second on all consoles," said Smith, before reiterating that the PC version's frame-rate will be uncapped. Smith did not, however, mention resolution of either console.
Destiny 2 is out September 6 on PS4, and Xbox One. The PC version launches October 24.
