Anthem is Bioware's new IP - first look coming at Xbox E3 2017 Briefing
Bioware's secretive new IP is a mysterious game called Anthem.
Bioware has been teasing a new IP for some time, with the only hints being it has nothing to do with the developer's past games.
After seeing the first teaser trailer at E3, we can absolutely confirm that. Bioware's new game is called Anthem, focusing on a seemingly post-apocalyptic society sheltered from a hostile wilderness until the dividing wall is threatened.
That said, we still know almost nothing about Anthem, previously known under the codename Dylan, besides this trailer.
Here's what we do know: Players will “explore a landscape of primeval beauty, confront the dangers you find, and grow in power with every step.” Huh. That's interesting.
Bioware has said it will be a semi-MMO in the vein of Destiny or The Division, but outside of that we're awaiting details on the world itself.
As spotted by PCGamer, the Anthem YouTube page shows a release date of spring 2018.
Apparently the really juicy stuff is being saved for Microsoft's E3 conference, which kicks off Sunday at 2pm Pacific Time. It's not exclusive to Xbox One, so, don't worry yourself over that part.
Until then, we'll just have to watch the trailer again, and debate what exactly Bioware has planned. Placing bets now it will be shown running on Xbox Scorpio.
