Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1 includes a Korok Mask to help you track down all 900+ of those little ninjas
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1 has been detailed. Here's what you'll get.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have two DLC packs, with the first dropping sometime during northern summer.
Nintendo today detailed this first Zelda: Breath of the Wild content drop, which contains a variety of goodies.
For those who think they've mastered Zelda: Breath of the Wild's challenges, look for the Trial of the Sword. This 45 room, wave-based combat challenge starts you off with no weapons or equipment, but if you get to the end "the true power of the Master Sword awakens".
To help you track down area of Hyrule you haven't yet visited, a new feature called Hero's Path Mode will show you your route through the last 200 hours of play. The idea is to see where you've been in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so you can check out areas you might not have explored as thoroughly and find those last shrines.
If you have seen and done anything, it's time for Hard Mode. In this souped-up mode, enemies gradually regain health, so must be beaten up quickly. They're all one power level higher than usual (Nintendo's example is that Red Bokoblins in normal difficulty Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be Blue Bokoblins in Hard mode) and can have higher maximum levels. Also, there are enemies and chests in the sky for some reason.
To make exploration a bit easier, you'll be able to find a Travel Medallion. Slotting this item allows to you can register one location on Zelda: Breath of the Wild's map and fast travel there.
Finally, there's a stack of new equipment. Look for eight new treasure chests, each containing gear themed on older Zelda titles. Examples include Majora's Mask, Midna's Helmet, Phantom Armor and Tingle's Outfit; you can see some concept images below.
A ninth chest offers the Korok Mask, which will be a great help in chasing down one of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's most difficult challenges: collecting all 900+ Koroks. When equipped, the mask shakes whenever Link approaches a Korok.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1 has not been dated, and will only be available as part of the Expansion Pass. The Expansion Pass also grants owners access to three treasure chests available at any time, and a second DLC pack coming over the 2017 holiday period. Expect a precise release date for DLC Pack 1 soon.
