Titanfall 2 reviews - all the scores

The sequel to one of the most talked about new IPs is winning a lot of praise.

Titanfall 2 is almost upon us. This sequel expands on the original's vision in almost every way. Previously an Xbox One and PC exclusive series, Titanfall 2 expands by releasing on PS4 for the first time, as well as PC, and Xbox One.

Unlike the original, Titanfall 2 features a fully offline single-player campaign and a multitude of multiplayer modes. As far as new additions, the biggest has to be the grappling hook, which works pretty well with the game's already fast and fluid movement.

There are six Titans in multiplayer, and each has access to a set of abilities not available to the others. Titans are more like classes now, from the most agile Ronin and Northstar, to the heavy hitters Scorch and Legion. Attrition, the mode missing from the recent beta and one of the most popular in the original, will be available on day one.

Developer Respawn also made the decision not to charge for post-launch maps, modes, or any extra content. A welcome change, and a direct response to the one of the biggest criticisms the original game faced. Skins and other cosmetic items will be monetised, though.

Titanfall 2 is out October 28 worldwide, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
