Add PlayStation Network to the list of outages today due to the DDoS attack

Even though outages seemed to slow a bit earlier this morning, issues are arising once again.

PlayStation Network users are experiencing issues connecting to the service because of the attack, according to GamesRadar, referencing tweets sent out by Sony.

The tweet was sent a few hours ago, and ad of press time, issues are still being reported per the PlayStation Network status page. Looking at the outage map on DownDetector.com, various comments from users state the service is back up in their area, but not everywhere.

DDoS attacks targeting internet company Dyn started this morning on the East Coast, and the firm thought the issue was resolved, but another wave is underway, and it's the third today, according to CNBC.

Other companies affected are Twitter, Spotify, Amazon Cloud PayPal and Netflix.

The Department of Homeland Security is on the case, per Reuters, and the list of sites and services having issues today, per DownDectector is rather long. Whether all of those companies were affected by this particular attack is unknown.
