Artist reimagines Netflix hit show Stranger Things as an 8-bit game
Stranger Things is set in the 80s, so it's only fitting it gets an era-appropriate game.
Stranger Things, Netflix's latest original series, has been generating a lot of buzz lately for, well; being good, but also because of the way it looks and sounds.
Being set in the 80s, the show has the look of classic Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter sci-fi films. Naturally, someone has gone ahead and created some concept art for what a tie-in game released in the 80s might have looked lie.
Artist Matheus Bitencourt released two 8-bit gifs that are well animated and well coloured, featuring the kids from the show.
Take a look, they don't really have spoilers for the show.
Show creators The Duffer Brothers previously said that should Netflix renew Stranger Things for a second season, they would like to see an 8-bit game bridge the gap between the two seasons. Speaking to IGN, Ross Duffer said, "What I really want is a video game."
"Like an 8-bit... These fans, a lot of them have done this 8-bit video game art that’s blowing my mind," added Matt Duffer.
Whatever we end up getting (if anything) the work of Matheus Bitencourt does look impressive.
