Kojima's Death Stranding tease was a washout, but here's some info on Kojipro mascot Ludens

Hideo Kojima did not really tell us anything about Death Stranding this weekend.

The Metal Gear Solid creator teased us late last week by saying that he "might" drop some Death Stranding news during his San Diego Comic-Con panel.

Since the game is approximately six eternities from release and presumably still in far too early a stage of production to discuss openly, we're not terribly shocked to find out the news was painfully slim. Are you ready? The video above is the new Kojima Productions studio sting, which will be played when you fire up any of its games - including Death Stranding.

Yeahhhhhhhh, not exactly headline stuff. That said, although Death Stranding is what we're interested in, a lot of people seem to be really curious about the Kojima productions mascot, Ludens, which features in its logo.

Building on from the hype generated by the reveal of a face behind the Ludens mask, Kojima told attendees that Ludens was modelled after himself - and not Death Stranding collaborator Norman Reedus, as many had theorised. Kojima said he finds the result a bit creepy.

Ludens has nothing to do with Death Stranding, Kojima reiterated, and is merely the company's mascot. Nevertheless, fans will soon be able to buy a variety of Ludens figures and toys. No doubt Metal Gear Solid fans will be keen to show their loyalty to Kojima's brand.

Death Stranding is coming to PC and PS4 but has not been dated. Okay, now lets talk about the whale, a species which engages in death strandings, and how there's a whale in The Phantom Pain - and whether any of this means anything or if Kojima is just firing wildly.
