Battlefield 1 might have a pigeon mode

Who's looking forward to playing capture the pigeon?

Speculation of a pigeon mode in Battlefield 1 has popped up thanks to AlmightyDaq's video, uploaded back in March.

In the video, he cites an inside source and proceeds to drop a bunch of information about the game, including the time period and name. A lot of the information he reveals is in line with the data-mined info from the closed alpha that leaked earlier this week, including the other game modes, map names, and the absence of the Engineer class.

If you scooch ahead to 1:51, he discusses the comical sounding pigeon mode.

"There's also a pigeon game mode. That is to say it's similar to Capture the Flag in a way. [The] Pigeon functions like a flag that must be held for a certain amount of time before [it] flies away towards the base carrying a message, thus scoring your team a point," he explains.

"It's pretty ridiculous sounding, but take my word for it."

If the details that were data-mined during the closed alpha are accurate, there are two new multiplayer modes - Possession and Breakthrough - that could potentially fit the bill.

There's been no comment from EA at this time, but we'll let you know if we hear anything.
