Wizard of Legend is a 2D dungeon crawler where wizards aren't boring
Hurl fireballs at enemies with style, not a staff.
Wizard of Legend is a new 2D dungeon crawler seeking funding on Kickstarter. The game is being developed by Contingent99, a two-man indie studio, for PC, Mac, Linux.
Wizard of Legend's pitch is very interesting, taking the (usually boring) act of casting spells and turning it into fast-based action, much a like Ryu's Hadoken in Street Fighter. You play as a wizard in this rogue-like top-down brawler, where every dungeon is procedurally generated.
It's being developed with co-op and PvP in mind, and the latter in particular looks very stylish. The campaign's target is very modest, only asking for $50,000. The studio has also created a playable demo, for those unconvinced by the below trailer.
You can download it from here for PC, Mac, and Linux. It's a very small download, too, at just 32 MB.
Here's the reveal trailer and couple of in-game shots.
Wizard of Legend is targeting a 2017 release.
