Overwatch: D.Va could get a buff to make her more like Winston
Although Overwatch features tank characters, some of them are more aggressive than others. D.Va fits this archetype, but she's only a menace because of her ultimate, not her regular attacks.
In a thread on Battle.net, a few players discussed D.Va's main attack in her mech form, commenting on how under-powered they are compared to other tanks, and particularly lacking in range.
"D.Va's damage is definitely on the lower side, much like Winston's. They are this way for a similar reason: They are both very mobile and hard to kill," principal designer Geoff Goodman chimed in.
"That said, I do think the is some room for some D.Va improvements, but these are unlikely to take the shape of increasing her damage output significantly," he added.
Goodman also said that there was a time when she dealt more damage, but her rocket boost ability basically allowed her to fly towards someone, drop them, and fly away, without much the player on the other end could do.
The designer also pointed out that unlike Winston or Reinhardt, D.Va takes more damage when dealing with multiple targets, because she lacks a barrier, but her boost should balance that out.
"As I said I think she can use some help in other areas, but I don't have anything concrete yet," he elaborated later in the same thread.
"The goal is that she should be a viable aggressive initiation tank, much like Winston can be right now, rather than some sort of beefy flying assassin. So any changes will likely be helping her in that direction."
In another forum thread, Goodman made some comments about McCree's flashbang/Fan the Hammer combo, saying that it'll be adjusted.
