Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice popped up at GDC this year with an amazing trailer. It wasn't just that Ninja Theory produced a typically rad cinematic; it was that the character performance was captured and rendered in real-time to show off the developer's new technology.
Pretty amazing stuff, but here's a new version of the trailer that may well top it. If you view this one in Chrome, you can pan the view around to admire the environment at your leisure.
That's pretty cool, and those of you with the hardware to support it can opt to view it at 4K resolution and in 3D.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is expected this year on PC and PS4 via digital channels. It's described as a triple-A indie, built on a small budget but with high production values.
We haven't seen a hell of a lot of it yet and the few times it has been on show it hasn't looked ready for public consumption, but given Ninja Theory's track record (Heavenly Blade, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, DmC) we expect to see it pull together.
Hopefully quite soon, too; with long gaps between releases, Ninja Theory seems to have been keeping itself afloat by jobbing on Disney Infinity. That pay cheque has just been cancelled, which is probably a bit of a worry - although not as severe blow as it was for Avalanche Software, which has been shuttered completely.
