Holy Pikachu - the main Pokemon series has sold over 200 million units

Not including spin-offs, the Pokemon game series has sold over 200 million units, The Pokemon Company announced today.
The figure includes games sold through February 29, 2016 with Virtual Console releases factored in. With the release of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, the figure now stands at over 201 million. With spin-offs included, the franchise has sold 279 million units.
Nintendo is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Pokemon this year, and a new title in the series, Pokemon Sun and Moon is slated for release this holiday season on Nintendo 3DS.
