New Obisidian RPG Tyranny out sometime this year
Pillars of Eternity and KOTOR 2 developer Obsidian Entertainment has new delights in store.
Set in a new, original world, Tyranny is a narrative-driven RPG from Obisidian and Paradox.
Players take on the role of a customisable character called the Fatebinder, whose past and future actions shape the world. Choosing details of your character's backstory will affect the world state, and there will be many story branches.
The Fastebinder is a grunt in the army of an evil overlord who was victorious in conquering the world; it's sort of like the aftermath of a typical fantasy RPG story, except that the heroes did not win.
Tyranny will release sometime this year, and is being built on the same engine as Pillars of Eternity. There's a website if you want to follow along. Here's a trailer:
