The Legend of Zelda is a NX holiday launch title, 3DS price cut coming - rumor

Earlier this week, a NeoGAF user posted information obtained from a verified-source regarding Nintendo’s 3DS and NX plans. The thread also mentioned what turned out to be Pokemon Sun and Moon.

The post mentioned the 20th Anniversary Pokemon game "Niji" which is interesting because Sun and Moon logos sent out by Nintendo today carried the file names ""Niji_A" and "Niji_B" - as noted by Gematsu. We didn't really pay attention to the name of the files. We will next time.

Something else rather interesting noted was that the company plans on a price cut for 3DS this fall in time for the holidays. Whether it's a permanent cut or just for the holidays is unknown.

Below you will find more interesting nuggets pulled from Trevelyan9999's post. Nintendo NX Launch games for 2016 besides Zelda NX are "hidden for now," he notes.

However, the source said The Legend of Zelda would be out this holiday 2016 for NX and "will either launch day and date with the Wii U version," or after the NX holiday launch window.

Nintendo 3DS 2016 plans:

  • Spring-Early Summer: Nintendo Selects Wave 1; Code Name: “Caviar F” (all ages smaller budget game);Metroid Prime: Federation Force
  • Summer: Code name: “Torte City” (big budget, core/all ages); Dragon Quest 7; Code name: “Cadillac” (all ages smaller budget)
  • Fall-Holiday: 3DS Hardware Price Cut; Code name: “N-Stars” ( big budget, all ages); Nintendo Selects Wave 2; Code name: “DMW2” (possibly Disney Magical World 2), Dragon Quest 8
