Diablo 3 received a patch a few days ago on all platforms. The patch, version 2.4, brought a new zone, new gear sets, updates to the Rift and more. It seems, however, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users are suffering massive performance issues that extend to input lag, stuttering and sometimes crashes after installing it.

These issues were severe enough to warrant multiple, big forum threads on Battle.net where multiple users are reporting the same experience. According to Digital Foundry's analysis of the PS4 version, it's not clear what could be causing these problems.

There's a stutter that happens seemingly randomly while travelling around the world, and although indoor sections adhere to the 60fps standard, outdoor areas see a lot of frame-rate drops, even when nothing is happening on the screen to warrant them. The combat, even while playing solo, is also noticeably choppy, according to the site.

More is revealed the in the overview video, which really illustrates the drops, if not the resulting input lag.
