The Division: this is what happens when you hit the level cap
Things get a whole lot tougher when you finally reach the level cap in The Division.
Ubisoft's new multiplayer online RPG shooter The Division has a maximum level cap of 30.
But once you hit that ceiling, certain sections of the game are reorganised to take into account your hard work and improved character.
"One of the cool things we do is that once you hit the max level - level 30 - suddenly the whole Dark Zone repopulates with all-new content and challenges suitable to that level," Massive's Magnus Jensen told VG247 in an extensive interview published today.
"And now the entire Dark Zone, instead of being segmented where you explore further and further north, the whole Dark Zone is repopulated completely for you to tackle openly again."
The Division's Dark Zone is the area of the map designated for PvP play, where players can team-up or fight against each other to steal and escape with loot, some of which can only be found in this tougher location.
But the repopulated Dark Zone isn't the only thing to keep players coming back for more once they reach top level.
"Obviously you can still find and craft much better gear and equipment," said Jensen. "Your tools are things that will continue to improve as you find more loot. You avenues for improvement are not dead just because you hit the max level."
Ubisoft also plans to release free content once the game is live, and paid DLC add-ons at a later date.
