Uh, Forza 6? Did you just get microtransactions?

Forza 6 players have been surprised by an unexpected addition to the game's available add-ons.

Forza Motorsport 6 players can now use real money to purchase in-game currency, in order to shortcut unlocking new content.

On the Australias Xbox Store, options range from a pack of 325 tokens for $3.95 up to 20,000 tokens for a whopping $139.95. That link should redirect so you can check local prices. Each token is worth 500 in-game credits.

Microtransactions in full priced games are pretty unpopular, but what's really got players hopping mad is that Turn 10 staff made comments about not including mcirotransactions in this iteration after Forza 5's reliance on them led to so much backlash the system had to be patched.

It's hard to know what to make of this; the racer has been available for two months now. What strange timing.
