FUT Draft is the latest addition to FIFA Ultimate Team. It's a fantasy football type affair with its own little quirks. Let us explain how the basics work and how you can make the most out of Drafts for your FIFA Ultimate Team.

You're given a Draft token when you begin the mode, which you can spend in either the single player or online game. Without a token, you'll have to pay an entry fee of 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA Points.

Upon entering the draft, select your difficulty - go for one that you're comfortable with and remember this is a four game series. You don't want to get too cocky choosing a hard difficulty rating as the largest prizes are handed out for completing all four games.

You now need to choose your formation. Go for the classic 4-3-3 until you're comfortable with alternatives. There's a reason this formation is popular - it works well. You need to make the most of your star players in the draft pool.

Once you have your formation locked, you need to pick your captain from a group of five players. As we've noted before, the most important part of FIFA Ultimate Team is chemistry. Once you've picked a captain you'll need to build the rest of the team around him/her, and this means getting players from the same club, league or nation so that the chemistry works. A red chemistry line is no good to you. Yellow is okay, but where possible, go for green lines as this means the players will have the best chemistry of all.

Even if a player doesn't seem to have the best rating, prioritise chemistry. It's worth picking a lower skilled player if those lines are green as you have less chance of defense and communication breaking down. You can save time using the preview option to check out your formation of your starting eleven.

Add your players, filling out the squad and maximising chemistry. It's not just the starting eleven you need to watch for chemistry. Make sure you've got that chemistry for your seven subs abd five reserves too. Subs and reserves are important to your FUT Draft success later, so we would never really recommend auto picking players unless you think you've got an absolutely golden starting eleven.

Once you spend your 15,000 coins by entering FUT Draft, you can expect to be compensated in different ways. You won't get 15,000 coins back if you lose your matches, but you should get cards, packs and some coins back for your successes.

It pays to know your team - your players - as well as possible. Get to know their strengths and weaknesses. Never expect certain victory, because the smallest detail can trip you up at the last minute. And don't get discouraged if you don't win a title during your first FUT Draft attempt. You're not likely to. Remember that the players are randomly selected afterall. You'll need to continue to build your assets and refine your methods for another draft.

Eventually, you'll enter the FUT Draft with a dream team and come out on top.
