Monster Hunter Stories will have a turn-based battle system
The next Monster Hunter game on the 3DS will be a big depature from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Monster Hunter Stories, which was announced back in April, now has an official website, albeit in Japanese.
Sal Romano at Gematsu has scoured over the site and provided a heap of translated details about the new game, which skews a lot younger than previous entries. Monster Hunter can be an intimidating series, but it sounds as though Monster Hunter Stories will go easier on players.
Perhaps the biggest change noted is that Monster Hunter Stories will be turn-based. Monster Hunter has typically had fairly intense real-time battles. According to the translation, "monsters have habits so if you pay attention and read their movements, you can tell what will be advantageous in battle". You'll be using companion monsters to fight as well.
The game is set to release in Japan in 2016. There's no word of an English language release yet, but Monster Hunter's popularity makes it seem likely.
