Splatoon patch notes detail version 2.1.0

Splatoon, Nintendo's unconventional online shooter, is getting a patch today that introduces numerous tweaks.

The update is listed at 597MB, but will presumably be smaller if you've already updated to version 2.0. This new patch will introduce several changes in the hopes of better balancing the game.

The full list of changes is available on Nintendo's support page. Arowana Mall and Camp Triggerfish are both being adjusted to avoid some of the more underhanded techniques people have been using on that map, and an issue that was seeing ties declared in Tower Control games with a definitive winner.

Other changes have been made to fix minor issues that players have been reporting, and to create "a more pleasant gaming experience".

Splatoon is available exclusively on Wii U, and represents Nintendo's first foray into online shooters.
