Popular League of Legends Champion Azir gets nerfed in latest patch
Azir, one of the strongest League of Legends Champions has been nerfed in update 5.17, which applied changes to the Champion's Q attack.
The mage is so formidable, he has been banned in major tournaments, according to Kotaku .
According to the patch notes, when Azir calls forth his sand soldiers and uses the Q-move Conquering Sands on a specific target, the soldiers cause damage to characters they pass through en route to the designated target. With the patch, damage will be limited to one solider.
This means enemies won’t take any additional damage for being hit during the short time frame the soldiers are alive "beyond the first.”
Riot said the nerf was put in place in order to establish a weakness "making it easier to close on him or avoid his damage without proper command of his forces." Before the nerf, players had to avoid his soldiers unless they wanted to take damage, which many found rather hard to accomplish during the stress of battle.
One of the game's designers, Patrick Scarborough, said he doesn't think the changes made to Azir will have a large impact on performance.
Some players will be happy with these changes to Azir and some will not, but that tends to happen when a character in any game is nerfed.
I have been pretty upset about nerfs myself in the past. But I got over it. Eventually.
