Fallout 4 base building sounds more like Minecraft than Skyrim
Fallout 4 players who want to put their own stamp on the wasteland will be at liberty to do so.
Fallout 4 features a vast crafting and customisation system, which extends out to base-building - players can create a whole town, hook up a power grid, and attract traders.
Base-building will be much more creative and flexible than buying and decorating a home in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Bethesda boss Pete Hines told Gamespot at QuakeCon. In fact, it seems to have more in common with another famous game.
"Much like a game like Minecraft, you can be a noob and just build a simple little thing. And you can also get the guys who go crazy and [can say], 'I rebuilt the spaceship from this game [or] I rebuilt the Tardis from Doctor Who using the lights and stuff and it looks exactly like it,'" he said.
"It's, 'Now I'm building it, I'm actually building the house, I'm building the wall, I'm placing the door, I made the table, I made the mattress.' It's that sense of making your own way in the world and defining, 'Who am I and where do I live and what's my story in this world?'"

Fallout 4 launches on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 10.
