Fallout 4 has robust crafting, customisation and base-building - video

Fallout 4 will offer you so, so many ways to kit out your vault dweller.

Fallout 4's E3 2015 reveal included a lengthy segment on crafting and customisation.

As you'll see in the videos below, you'll be able to kit out your weapons with all kinds of customisations such as scopes, stocks and magazines. There's a similar system for power armour.

These new components are crafted from materials foundin the world or broken down from the trash loot you find everywhere in Bethesda Game Studios RPGs. Every item in the world has a purpose now, creative director Todd Howard said. One of the coolest features of the system is that the game shows you which sorts of items you need to find in order to source crafting materials. Nice.

But it's not just about better gear - you can optionally build your own towns in the wilderness, linking them together with trade routes, building electrical grids to defend them, and attracting inhabitants.
