More free DLC on the way for The Witcher 3
This week's free double DLC for The Witcher 3 includes a new mission and a new look for Yennefer.
CD Projekt RED became our favourite studio last year after an open letter acknowledging the common - and rather crappy - practices of companies playing silly buggers with DLC. "...surprisingly right after release, lots of tiny pieces of tempting content materialize with a steep price tag attached. Haven’t we just paid a lot of cash for a brand new game?" Amen to that.
"Cutting to the chase, everyone who buys Wild Hunt will receive 16 specially prepared DLCs absolutely for free, regardless of platform. You don’t have to pre-order, you don’t have to buy any special edition to get them — if you own a copy of Wild Hunt, they’re yours. This is our way of saying thank you for buying our game.”
The first lot of DLC included the Temerian armour set (for Geralt and his insolent steed. Is it just my horse that's an arse?) and a stylish array of hair and beard styles.
This weeks DLC has a new look for Yennefer, and a new contract for Geralt.
Missing Miners will have you looking for miners that are missing (surprise!) from a Skellige village. Hopefully there'll be a juicy reward at the end of it.
We've got 12 more bits of DLC to come, and later this year we can look forward to a hefty 10-hour expansion in Hearts of Stone which takes place in Oxenfurt and “the wilds of No Man’s Land” as Geralt takes on a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass.
Stay tuned for details on next week's goodies!
