Oculus won't stop virtual reality porn
Oculus VR is not interested in stopping people from making porn for its Rift headset.
"If it exists, there's porn of it," goes the saying, or in our case "if it exists, there's porn for it." The consumer version of the Oculus Rift headset has not even been released yet, and already, there's porn for it.
Oculus founder Palmer Luckey attended the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference recently and said that the company does not intend on blocking anyone from using the Rift, or making content for it.
"The rift is an open platform. We don’t control what software can run on it. And that’s a big deal," said Luckey when asked about X-rated content for the headset.
As virtual reality becomes more and more prevalent, more and more of our entertainment will be made to fit in it. It will be interesting to see if certain VR manufacturers limit their headsets to PG13 content.
The consumer version of the Rift is set to launch during the first quarter of 2016. You're going to need a higher-mid range PC to support it.
