Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 announced, worldwide reveal on April 26
The Call of Duty game Activision has been teasing is Black Ops 3, according to a teaser video released earlier this afternoon and tweet from Treyarch. Activision itself has now confirmed the game is, indeed, Black Ops 3.
Not that it wasn't obvious from the onset.
The video which is titled Back in Black ends with the Roman numeral for three, and SOG operative Alex Mason is mentioned as well.
Black Ops 3 will be revealed on April 26, per the video, and the official website for the franchise has been updated to coordinate with the new trailer.
"After three years of working in the shadows, the team at Treyarch returns this year with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," said Scott Lowe on the Activision blog.
"There’s so much to talk about and I’m sure you all have plenty of questions, but the good news is you won’t have to wait long for answers—the world reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set for Sunday, April 26, so stay tuned for details."
Looking over the official website's source code, a description for the game was also revealed (thanks, Charlie Intel):
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare.
"With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever."
Some artwork, which may or not be the boxart, was also found via the official website.
