Ouya games and software may be added to Alibaba's set top box following a $10 million investment, according to rumours out of the financial world.

The Wall Street Journal cited "people familiar with the matter" for the news.

No further details have surfaced.

Alibaba is a Chinese e-commerce company with a wide reach, which makes its own set top boxes as well as licensing other companies' tech. The partnership could have important ramifications for both Ouya and Alibaba, as China has lifted its ban on game consoles.

Ouya raised over $8 million on Kickstarter and a further $15 million from investors, but the Android micro-console hasn't exactly set the market on fire.
