Twitch Movie Night will let you watch game documentaries live
Twitch has announced that over the next few weeks, it will be hosting a few indie documentaries centred around gaming.
Twitch and Develover Digital have teamed up to offer film screenings during January and February. The films are all documentaries that talk about various aspects of game culture.
The event starts today at 2:15pm PST with Stream Dream, a film that chronicles the rise in video game streaming on Twitch and YouTube. Deveolver will preface that with a trailer showcasing upcoming films by the publisher.
All shows will be available live on the main Twitch channel. We've also added the schedule for you below:
- January 9: Stream Dream and Winter Releases Trailer
- January 16: Pixel Poetry – A games-as-art documentary
- January 23: (no broadcast)
- January 30: Angry Video Game Nerd – The movie adaptation of the popular comic web series
- February 6: Gaming in Color – LGBTQ gamer documentary
- February 13: Super Game Jam: The Movie – Game development becomes entertainment
- February 20: To be announced
The films will also be available for rental and digital download on Amazon, GOG, Google Play, Vudu, PlayStation, Xbox, Vimeo, and more.
