Far Cry 4 Xbox One issues abound, Ubisoft points finger at Xbox Store issue - Update
Far Cry 4 Xbox One is having issues today.
Update: Microsoft has issued a statement to Eurogamer to clarify the issue, despite not directly commenting on the specifics.
"If customers own the rights to a game, they can visit their download history and initiate a re-download whenever they please. Even if the game has been delisted from Xbox Store and is no longer available for purchase.
"On Monday, some users were unable to access their digitally purchased base edition of Far Cry 4. Our team has resolved the issue and all access to the title has been restored."
Original Story: Far Cry 4 is inaccessible via the Xbox One Store; you can find it while searching, but trying to get into the info page results in an error.
Both Kotaku and IGN have noted the shooter's sudden quasi-absence, although not everyone is affected.
It's a bit of a pain if you wanted to buy the game today, but much more serious are reports that some players who already purchased the game cannot play it, even if they had it installed previously or even have an active install right now.
Ubisoft has acknowledged the problem, which has reportedly happened before, and said it may be related to the Xbox Store issue.
Microsoft has not commented on the matter or released a service status warning as a result of it. Affected gamers are encouraged to contact Ubisoft Support and Xbox Support.
