Japan went crazy for the PS4 last week

PS4 sales spiked suddenly in Japan last week, with the result that the console is on sale for 1 million sales before the end of the year.
68,041 PS4 consoles were purchased in Japan in the week ending December 14.
According to chart tracker Media Create, via DualShockers, that's far and away the highest single week's sales for the console to date, barring launch.
The spike is likely due to Japan's general holiday spending uptick, and as such, it's likely to be repeated or exceeded next week.
PS4 sales in Japan now stand at 906,566. With two full shopping weeks left, there's a strong possibility Sony will hit 1 million units sold by the end of the year, which would be pretty amazing.
