Media Create charts note hardware decline, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate rules roost
The latest Media Create report out of Japan is in, and there isn't anything too surprising on it. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was once again the top software earner, and both New 3DS models topped the hardware charts.
Capcom's big release sold 1.4 million units last week during its debut, and another 327,212 copies for the week ending October 19.
Two new releases for the week, Chaos Rings 3: Prequel Trilogy for PS Vita and Amnesia Later X Crowd 5 Edition fared rather well considering both had Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Yokai Watch 2 to content with.
On the hardware side of things, Nintendo's New 3DS systems sold an additional 89,689 units combined, with the LL model selling 31,000 units over the standard edition.
PlayStation Vita and PSP were the only other hardware offerings to show growth - and not by much. PlayStation 4 sales dropped by 3,651 units over last week's 11,697 units.
Xbox One didn't fare well either, selling only 728 units compared to last week's 809 units.
Overall, hardware sales declined 144,880 units over last week's 286,543 units.
