There are more side-scrolling Assassin's Creed games in the works
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China was announced as part of the Assassin's Creed: Unity season pass, and it's the first of many.
We're going to see more games released under the Chronicles series of the Assassin's Creed franchise, according to Ubisoft's Alex Amancio. Amancio, who's the creative director of Unity said as much speaking to Eurogamer.
"We really liked the side-scrolling idea, like Mark of the Ninja, and we thought it would be a really great way to explore some of the other universes we've created.
"One thing that's really cool is that every one of the chapters of this game will be in the art style representative of that era in time. This is why Shao Jun's game is like Chinese ink - very black and red. Once we have other characters and timeframes the art style will completely change to match that specific character."
It is not clear if upcoming entries will follow the same model, or enjoy a standalone release, and Amancio said he "doesn't want to spoil the surprise."
