Android tablets will be graced with Hearthstone's presence by year's end

Android users will be able to play Hearthstone on their tablets by the end of the year, according to Blizzard.

The news was posted over on Battle.net, and while that's good news for tablet users, those who want to try it on their smartphone will have to wait a while longer.

According to Blizzard, Android and iOS smartphone users won't be able to try their hand at it until early next year.

"It's become clear that we need a little more time to get that version right," reads the post. "While we have a build up and running internally, it needs a bit more work, and we don't feel like we'll be ready to share it with you until early next year.

"It's very important to us that the phone experience for Hearthstone is just as accessible as the tablet and PC versions."

Blizzard said one of the biggest challenges it's having with the smartphone version is the development of the user interface. The team behind the title wants the UI to feel intuitive and offer "the same quality Hearthstone experience" as the other formats.

It was announced in September that the free-to-play card collecting game had played by over 20 million players worldwide.
