Resident Evil: Revelations 2 release date pops up on PS Store
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 hasn't been formally dated by Capcom, but Sony has been more forthcoming.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is listed on the PlayStation Store already.
According to Destructoid, the North American store shows a release date of February 17.
The old-school horror sequel is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in addition to PlayStation 3 and PS4. Capcom will probably opt to sim-ship on all platforms, but the PS Store isn't an entirely reliable source of release date info, so don't get too excited. On the other hand, it certainly matches Capcom's "early 2015" window.
If the February date is accurate, it's pretty soon for a game that was first announced in September. At the time, Capcom and Sony suggested they were in the very early stages of development, but there was a (very popular) playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2014, and we'll apparently have it in our sticky paws within six months of the first hints of its existence.
Shorter PR cycles is something Japanese publishers in particular seem to be embracing lately, and it's hard to field any complaints beyond "oh gosh February is going to be well hectic".
