When will the Destiny servers switch on?

Destiny is an online game, so getting your disc early won't help if Bungie hasn't flipped the switch. Luckily, its going to - you might be able to play nearly a full day early.

Destiny's servers will switch on, worldwide, as soon as September 9 rolls into the very first time zone.

That means those of us who live in the future down here in Australia and New Zealand won't have to wait till September 9 arrives in Europe or the US half to a full day after it gets to us. We get a headstart.

(Pause for a very small group of non-representative Americans to have a tantrum. Reminder to this very small group of non-representative Americans that almost everything in games goes by US convenience so let us have this one thing in dignity.)

Of course, if you're living in Europe and the US and you have your disc early, you can jump in alongside we antipodeans, too - with Bungie's apparent blessing!

Destiny launches on September 9 on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
