People are paying up to $1000 for Destiny's special editions on eBay

Some of those who were lucky enough to secure a pre-order of any of Destiny's special editions, are already listing them on eBay for prices up to $1000 and beyond.
We already know that Destiny's Ghost Edition is in short supply, such short supply in fact that some pre-orders are being cancelled.
Some of the entrepreneurial types among those who pre-ordered thought they could exploit this drought and offer their Ghost and Limited editions on eBay for exorbitant amounts. Prices start at $300 for the Ghost Edition, which is twice as much as the retail price.
One user on NeoGAF even managed to sell their's for $1025.
Would you ever pay that much for any game's collector's edition?
