This Watch Dogs PC mod makes it look as good as Ubisoft's E3 2012 demo
Watch Dogs had a pretty stunning reveal at E3 2012, but PC gamers have accused Ubisoft of downgrading the game's visuals when it launched this May. Thankfully, there's a new PC mod that makes it look all shiny and 'Ultra,' just like the E3 demo.
Want more proof? This YouTuber recreated the Watch Dogs E3 reveal demo in the final build then compared the footage side-by-side to see just how different the two builds are. Do you see a difference?
The mod was created by TheWorse, who listed the following enhancements included in the project:
- Changes to the default fog values
- Enabled bokeh DOF for the main cameras
- Stuttering Improvements
- E3 2012 Bloom
- Performance Improvements
- Enabled Headlight Shadows
- LoD Changes
- Reflection changes
- Added 3 new cameras to the game(closer, normal, further)
- Rain changes(High quality rain drops, properly reacting to light, etc)
- LensFlares(WIP)
- Lighting changes(TESTING AND WIP)
- Civilians density changes
They also posted a gallery of screens to show you how Watch Dogs looks with the mod running:
Nice sun glare off the road there, and the road texture is pretty lovely too. The draw distance also bleeds into a cool blurring effect if you look right down the street.
That water looks ridiculous, in a good way. There's also a heat haze wafting off the surf as well as the highly detailed backdrop.
More ace water effects here, made even wetter thanks to rain. Feels like Scotland.
Some pretty snazzy glare off the car headlights there.
More blurring. Go to Specsavers Aiden.
