Legions of Zelda fans could help Hyrule Warriors sell one million worldwide
Hyrule Warriors releases on Wii U this summer, and due to the legions of Zelda fans worldwide, Tecmo Koei hopes the brawler will sell over one million units.
Speaking with Nikkei Trendy, the firm's Yoichi Erikawa said between Dynasty Warriors and The Legend of Zelda fans, he hopes the Wii U exclusive collaboration is a hit with both audiences.
"In gaming, this is a first-time collaboration," he said as translated by Nintendo Everything. "As a new entry in the Warriors series, we plan to release the game Hyrule Warriors in collaboration with Nintendo in the summer of this year.
"In addition to our Warriors series fan base, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda is also a very popular series with a large fan base, and I think it will become a great new market. Because of The Legend of Zelda’s legion of fans overseas, we are aiming to sell more than one million copies worldwide."
A western release date hasn't been announced, but a localization is definitely in the works.
