Pokemon X&Y sales pass 12 million, are collectively the fastest-selling 3DS game to date
Pokemon X&Y have, together, passes the 12 million sales mark, and collectively hold the title of fastest-selling 3DS game to date.
The Pokemon Company has announced in a press release that to-date, some 245 million Pokemon games have been sold worldwide. Interestingly, Nintendo announced in January that Pokemon X & Y had sold over 11.6 million units, meaning that some 400,000 units have been sold since then.
The release was sent to us in regards to the latest Pokemon film, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. We also learned that some 20 billion Pokemon collectible cards have been sold to date, and that the series' cartoon tie-ins have been broadcast in over 160 countries.
Eurogamer adds that by comparison the first two Pokemon games, Red and Blue, have sold almost 24 million to date, and that Gold and Silver have collectively shifted 23 million units.
Game Boy Advance titles Ruby and Sapphire are next with 16 million sales, which were chronologically followed by Diamond and Pearl which hit 17.6 million sales, and then Black and White at 15.4 million.
