PlayStation TV commitment "very unclear", says Xbox Entertainment Studios boss
Microsoft doesn't seem to see Sony as much of a competitor to its Xbox Original Programming scheme.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Xbox Entertainment Studios boss Nancy Tellem said Microsoft has been working on original content for 18 months ahead of its June debut, whereas Sony doesn't seem to be making much of a bid.
"Microsoft's dedicated a whole studio to support this kind of content development. Original content is something that everyone's toying with right now. It's very unclear how committed they are to that on PlayStation," she said.
Tellem also commented that coming on board Microsoft was like being given the keys to a candy store.
"Whether it's from a game like Fable, or Age of Empires, or Gears of War, or Forza or Halo. These are things that, frankly if we weren't attached to Microsoft, everyone would yearn to have. It's an amazing platform to work from," she said.
Xbox Original programming includes a documentary about the E.T. graveyard dig and several other newly-detailed series.
